What is actually covered
Our Limited Lifetime Warranty
The word "lifetime" gets used loosely in this industry. Here is precisely what ours covers and what it does not.
The short version
Defects Are Ours, Accidents Are Not
Our limited lifetime warranty covers defects in the components and workmanship of the window treatments we manufacture, for as long as you own them. If a mechanism fails, a slat cracks without being hit, or a seam gives way, that is ours to put right.
It does not cover accidental damage, pet damage, misuse, or fabric fading from sun exposure. No manufacturer in this industry warranties against sun fade, and any company that tells you otherwise is either misinformed or hoping you will not read the small print.
In detail
Covered and Not Covered
Rather than making you interpret a legal document, here it is plainly.
Covered: mechanisms
Lift systems, tilt mechanisms, cordless springs, headrails, brackets and tracks that fail in normal use.
Covered: workmanship
Anything we cut, assembled or finished incorrectly, including seams, welds, joins and finishing.
Covered: motors and components
Motors and control components supplied by us, subject to the manufacturer terms for that specific system.
Not covered: accidental damage
Impacts, tears, pulls and anything a person, a pet or a piece of furniture did to the treatment.
Not covered: sun fade
Ultraviolet degradation of fabric color. Universal across the industry. A good lining slows it considerably.
Not covered: misuse
Damage from forcing a mechanism, cleaning with unsuitable chemicals, or modifying the product after installation.
Making a claim
Call Us, and We Will Come and Look
There is no claim form and no registration card to have lost. Call 407-295-5200, tell us what has happened, and we will arrange for somebody to look at it. Having your original invoice helps us find the order quickly, but we can usually locate it from your address.
If it is a warranty issue we repair or replace it. If it is accidental damage, we will tell you honestly and quote to fix it, which is very often cheaper than people expect because we make the parts.

Warranty Questions

It means the warranty applies for as long as you own the window treatment in the home where it was installed, rather than for a fixed number of years. "Limited" refers to the fact that it covers defects in components and workmanship rather than everything that could possibly happen to it.
The warranty is tied to the original purchaser rather than to the property. If you are selling, the treatments themselves stay with the house and continue to work; we simply cannot extend the original warranty to the new owner. We are still happy to service them.
No, and no manufacturer covers it. Ultraviolet light degrades textile dyes over time, particularly in Florida. A quality lining absorbs most of the UV before it reaches the face fabric and extends the life considerably, which is why we recommend one on west-facing windows.
We will still come and look at it. We repair plenty of window treatments we did not build, including verticals and blinds from other suppliers. That work is quoted rather than covered by warranty, for obvious reasons.
It helps, but it is not essential. We can usually find the order from your name and address. Keeping the invoice is worth doing anyway if you plan to claim a federal energy tax credit on a qualifying product.
